No, it isn't heavy duty, but it does what it does very well! It's a great little vacuum for getting in those little corners and crevices. For cobwebs and curtains, for small rugs and hardwood/vinyl floors. It's very lightweight and easy to use, it has great suction and is small and easy to store. It's also very affordable. You will have to order bags online or through the mail though, because NO ONE carries them. It's a must for anyone with an upright vacuum, we have a big heavy Kirby, which works good on the carpet, but boy is it cumbersome! And just try using the attachments! You have to turn it upside down and take half of it apart, not to mention the dust and mess. I can't live without my little Mighty Mite any more!
