I evaluated a lot of vacuums. One thing I learned is the right one depends on your individual needs. I wanted an upright that includes attachments, uses bags (less dust than bagless), and is built on a metal frame for durability. This vacuum met these requirements perfectly.My carpets are light in color with short pile. The first time I used this vacuum, my carpets turned two shades lighter! I had no idea so much dark pet hair was in there. After I vacuum, the carpets look amazing, like they are brand new and plush.The suction on the vacuum is surprisingly strong. It sucks in crumbs that are inches away from the vacuum. In fact, the suction is so strong, that I have to lower it for area rugs. This is easily done with a slider on the front of the vacuum. Even on low, the suction is too strong for small area rugs, but the attachments are convenient for cleaning those. The carpet attachment for stairs is propelled by the suction of the vacuum, not a separate motor. It works very well, but I have yet to find the perfect stair vacuum. All the attachments fit nicely into the vacuum, and don't fall off or get in the way. The Cirrus vacuum bags are a very high quality and so much nicer than my old Kenmore bags. They feel like a heavy fabric and have an automatic closure so that when you pull it out of the machine, no dust escapes. This is much cleaner than my bagless vacuum.The Cirrus is very solid (and heavy). Nothing on it feels cheap. This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I highly recommend it. However, it's not going to be right for some people or certain homes, for example:- It has very powerful suction that is too strong for a home with many small area rugs- It is an excellent carpet vacuum, but not a good bare floor cleaner- It is built on a solid metal frame that is heavy and might not be good for some people if has to be carried on stairsSome areas where I'd like this Cirrus vacuum improved are:- Better bare floor cleaning (for such powerful suction on carpet, it's nearly useless on bare floors)- Edge cleaning (the vacuum leaves a solid one inch gap around the edges. I'd like a side that cleans right to the edge like my old canister vac.)- Easier bag installation (the bag installation is very sensitive and it takes several tries/minor adjustments to get it to set just right)
