This vacuum is a very poor product. I would strongly caution potential buyers to realize that this bagless vacuum needs to have its canister cleaned THOROUGHLY almost every time you use it. Despite having done this religiously and having replaced the HEPA filter (which in itself costs $20 -- replaced every 6 months you would have doubled the price of this vacuum in less than 2 years), I still find it has suction issues. The handle broke so it does not lock upright, and the rigid end of the hose, which fits into the body of the machine, keeps popping out of the hole, so that I'll be vacuuming for a while before it becomes clear that there is no suction. Also, it is loud.But by far the worst aspect of this vacuum is the fact of emptying the canister. You must not only stand over the garbage and release the catch, you have to really knock the thing on the edge of the bin in order to get all the dust and dirt out, releasing clouds of dust. I cannot understand how these bagless vacuums have been recommended for people with allergies. Maybe the allergic people don't do the maintenance. And because I have to vacuum every day I really cannot deal with hosing out the canister and filter and letting them dry for 24 hours. (The filter does not dry very well anyway -- the last time I tried it was still spitting out droplets after two days.)We have a very limited budget and bought this vacuum because we simply could not spend any more. Frankly, using my stiff straw broom on the rugs might work better for no more labor. You get what you pay for. If you can pay more and buy a high-quality vacuum, do.
